Manjurul Islam Manzil is only 22 years old. He is suffering from stomach tumor and cancer; the young man is now struggling for his life in the bed of Dhaka Medical College.

His father Nur Amin has been working to earn the means for a family of 6 people including Manzil and 3 daughters. They are now living Romna Station, Chilmary, Kurigram.

About a year ago, after completing the Diploma in Engineering in 'Refrigeration and Air Conditioning', he was dreaming of studying B.Sc. Engineering. He is now at the crossroads of life and death before climbing the ladder of dreams!

The doctor said that after 3 chemotherapy and then operations, he will be completely healed. For this it will cost about 4-5 lakh Taka. It is not possible for the father who is now a day laborer who has lost his house and resources in the river to provide so much money. He is urging help from people from all walks of life, to get his son back.

"মঞ্জিল বাঁচতে চায়"

২২ বছরের টগবগে যুবক এখন মৃত্যু যন্ত্রণায় ছটফট করছে। মঞ্জিল, টিউমার ক্যান্সারে আক্রান্ত হয়ে গত ২৮ দিন ধরে ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালের ২১৮ নং ইউনিটের ০৬ নং বেডে বাঁচার জন্য আকুতি করছে।

মঞ্জিরুল ইসলাম মঞ্জিল, পিতা-নুর আমিন, রমনা রেলষ্টেশন, চিলমারী, কুড়িগ্রাম। ১ বছর আগে 'রেফ্রিজারেশন এ্যান্ড এয়ারকন্ডিশনে' ডিপ্লোমা ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং শেষ করে বি.এসসি ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং পড়ার স্বপ্ন দেখছিলেন। স্বপ্নের সিঁড়িতে উঠার আগেই জীবন-মরণের সন্ধিক্ষণে সে! ডাক্তার বলেছেন ৩ টি কেমোথেরাপি অতপরঃ অপারেশন করালে সে সম্পূর্ণরুপে সুস্থ হবে। এজন্য গুনতে হবে ৪-৫ লক্ষ টাকা।

নদীতে ভিটেবাড়ি, সহায়-সম্বল হারা দিনমজুর বাবার পক্ষে এতো টাকা যোগান দেওয়া সম্ভব নয়। তাই তিনি সমাজের বিত্তবানসহ সর্বস্তরের মানুষের কাছে ছেলেকে ফিরে পেতে সাহায্য কামনা করেছেন।
