Our friend Ahsan Habib Raju, a BUET graduate of Batch 89 of EEE department [ex-resident of Shahid Smirity Hall] has been diagnosed with Metastatic carcinoma, secondary in the lever. He was in treatment under the supervision of Dr. Mostak [Director Cancer Institute, Bangladesh] for the last two months. Based on the current situation, doctors in Bangladesh suggested him to go abroad [India] for better treatment at the earliest possible time. He is preparing to visit India 1st/2nd week on Dec,20.
Ahsan Raju has been unemployed for a long time and he was the only earner in his family. He has a family of four members - a son (HSC 2nd year), two daughters (grade 6 and grade 3), and his wife. Cancer treatment is long-term and expensive one. Based on his current situation, he needs financial support NOT only for the cancer treatments but also for bearing his family expenditure. The estimated cost for supporting Ahsan Raju's Cancer treatment and family expenditure expected to be 20 Lacs BDT (~24,000 US dollars).

Below is a short note from Raju about his current situation: "বন্ধুরা। আসসালামু আলাইকুম। আমার লিভারে দ্বিতীয় বারের মতো ম্যাটাস্টাটিক কারসিনমা(ডাক্তারি ভাষায়) ধরা পড়েছে। যেটাকে সেকেন্ডারী ইন লিভারও বলে, যেটা প্রাইমারী ক্যান্সার সেলের আলামত বহন করে থাকে। এর পরবর্তি ধাপের চিকিৎসাগুলো দেশে সফল না হওয়ায় বাংলাদেশের ডাক্তাররা ইন্ডিয়া বা অন্যান্য দেশের সরনাপন্ন হতে পরামর্শ দিয়েছেন । বিশেষ করে ডাঃ মোসতাক(পরিচালক, জাতীয় ক্যান্সার ইন্সটিউট) ইন্ডিয়া যেয়ে দ্রুত চিকিৎসার পরামর্শ দিয়েছেন। আমি চিকিৎসার জন্য ব্যাংগলোর/মাদ্রাজ যাচ্ছি ডিসেম্বরের প্রথম/দ্বিতীয় সপ্তাহে । উল্লেখ্য, গত ৩(তিন) মাস যাবত বাংলাদেশে কিছু প্রাকৃতিক চিকিৎসা করাচ্ছি, যেটার কারনে এগুলো ছড়িয়ে পড়ছে না। আমাকে তোমাদের বিগত দিনে সহযোগিতার জন্য আমি আন্তরিকভাবে কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাচ্ছি। বন্ধুদের সকলের পরামর্শ ও দোয়া কামনা করছি।" - Ahsan Raju
