Syed Zakir Hossain (Biplob), a talented Orthopedic Surgeon of Dhaka Medical College hospital, has recently been diagnosed with an advanced stage of Colon cancer. His wife, Kazi Noor Sitan (Siti), has been actively fighting with her breast cancer for the last three years. Siti and Biplob have three lovely school & college going daughters, and they all live with Biplob’s ailing mother.

The recent diagnosis put them in a very harsh and unfortunate situation that involves physical and mental trauma as well as financial difficulty. As you all may already know that cancer treatment is very expensive. In particular, the two simultaneous cancer treatments place this family in an unexpected reality. We, as their friends and well-wishers, can try our best to help them in this regard. At first, the family earnestly request everyone to pray for their endurance and quick recovery. Secondly, we solemnly appeal to everybody to contribute to Biplob’s cancer treatment fund organized by Ankur International. We want Biplob to be back to his kids, friends, and colleague while continue to serve the community.

Additional details: Biplob is an alumnus of Dhaka Medical College, Notre Dame College (HSC’87) and Adamjee Cant College. He is a fellow of AAOS. We are proud of him for being selected as an AAOS International Scholar for the 2020 International Emerging Leaders (IEL) Scholarship! He was preparing to receive his award on March 20, 2020 in Orlando, Florida.

Siti is a recognized dental & maxillofacial surgeon and alumnus of Dhaka Dental College, Badrunessa College, and Dhanmondi Girls' School. Both of them are serving as Asst. Prof of respected institutions.
