Sajiya Farhana Prapti, a remarkable young woman, completed her HSC in 2023 and is now pursuing her dream of studying law at Dhaka University. At just 20 years old, she is facing the toughest battle of her life in a hospital bed at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, fighting against leukemia. This burden has, until now, been primarily borne by her and her family. However, her doctor has suggested a bone marrow transplant as a crucial step in her fight—a procedure with an estimated cost of 50 lakh BDT, or around 50,000 USD, a sum far beyond her family's means. Now, Prapti is not only battling a life-threatening illness but also confronting the daunting task of raising the necessary funds. The amount is overwhelming - there is no doubt about it. But is it really so? Could each of us come together to share a small part of her burden? Is it really impossible to reach this seemingly unreachable goal if enough of us extend our hands in kindness?

While it may be beyond our understanding why did the Almighty allow such suffering to befall on this bright, innocent young woman…, perhaps the answer lies in the fact that we, too, are being tested alongside Prapti and her family. Maybe we are being called to extend the same compassion and love that we have been blessed with by the grace of the Almighty.
