At Ankur International, we have been working alongside the Lebanese registered organization URDA to support some of the most vulnerable children affected by the ongoing crisis. Today, more than 30,000 children in Gaza have been orphaned, and thousands of Palestinian families have been displaced into southern Lebanon, living in extremely difficult and uncertain conditions.
Many of these children have lost not only their parents, but also siblings and extended family members during airstrikes and conflict. Their homes, schools, and the sense of safety every child deserves have been taken away. What remains for them now is uncertainty—and the hope that someone, somewhere, will care enough to help.
Your sponsorship of $55 per month can become that hope.
This support will help provide a child with essential needs such as food, education, and a safer place to live. Through this sponsorship, a child who has experienced unimaginable loss can begin to rebuild their life with dignity and opportunity.
One such mother, Widad, was forced to flee her village when phosphorus bombs surrounded her community in southern Lebanon. With nothing but her children in her arms, she escaped to Tyre, leaving everything behind. Today, she and her children share a crowded shelter with many other displaced families—each carrying their own stories of loss and survival.
In the Ein el-Hilweh refugee camp, home to nearly 80,000 Palestinian refugees, fear has become a daily reality. Many families are too afraid to leave their homes even when food and water are scarce. Others have fled to nearby schools that now serve as temporary shelters. Overcrowding, uncertainty, and trauma have become part of daily life for these children.
Through our partnership, we are currently supporting dozens of displaced families—providing essentials such as hygiene kits, blankets, and basic care. Yet the need continues to grow.
By sponsoring a child, you are not simply sending financial support—you are restoring hope to a child who has lost so much.
Sponsors will receive the child’s profile and updates about their progress. You will also have opportunities to connect with the child through scheduled Zoom calls and receive quarterly updates about their well-being and education. Sponsors are also welcome to visit the child in Lebanon if they wish.
Your sponsorship is 100% Zakat eligible, and payments can be made monthly, quarterly, or annually—whichever is most convenient for you.
