গত রোববার ২৫ সেপ্টেম্বর দুপুরে পঞ্চগড়ের করতোয়া নদীতে নৌকাডুবিতে নিহত হয়েছে প্রায় ৬৯ জন মানুষ। এখনও নিখোঁজ রয়েছেন কয়েকজন। বোদা উপজেলার করতোয়া নদীর আউলিয়া ঘাট থেকে শতাধিক মানুষ নিয়ে শ্যালো ইঞ্জিনচালিত একটি নৌকা বদেশ্বরী মন্দিরের দিকে যাচ্ছিল। ঘাট থেকে কিছুদূর যাওয়ার পর নৌকাটি হঠাৎ দুলতে থাকে। ঘাট থেকে মাঝিকে মাইক দিয়ে সতর্ক করার চেষ্টা করতে করতেই নৌকাটি ডুবে যায় এবং ঘটে বিপুল প্রাণহানি। শারদীয় দুর্গোৎসবের এই আনন্দের সময়ে হতভাগ্য এই মানুষগুলোর পরিবারে শুধুই কান্নার আওয়াজ। অনেকে সংসারে উপার্জনক্ষম মানুষটিকে হারিয়ে দিশেহারা। এমতাবস্থায় দুর্ঘটনায় মৃত ব্যক্তিদের পরিবারের পাশে দাঁড়াবার জন্য সবাইকে আবেদন জানাচ্ছি। ফান্ড রেইজিং এর মাধ্যমে প্রাপ্ত অর্থ দুর্ভাগা পরিবারের মাঝে সমভাবে বণ্টন করাই এই প্রচেষ্টার লক্ষ্য। সামনের অনিশ্চিত ভবিষ্যতে আমাদের এই ছোট্ট সাহায্য যদি এই মানুষগুলোকে সাময়িক প্রশান্তি দেয়, সেটাই এই প্রচেষ্টার সফলতা।

A tragic drowning event took place at Karatoa river in Boda upazila of Panchagarh on Sunday, September 25, 2022, which left 69 people dead and a few more missing. The trawler, carrying 70-80 passengers including women and children, capsized in the middle of the river while heading towards Badheshwar Temple on the occasion of Mayalaya at around 2:30 pm. 69 people died including 20 children, 30 women, and 17 men. During this Puja festival, there is only tears flowing around the victims’ households. Many families lost their only earning member. In such a situation we are asking for your help. The collected donations will be divided among the victims’ families equally which may help at least a little to rehabilitate them better. Please come forward in this humanitarian call.
