Dr. Kaniz Fatema was diagnosed with Stage 4A endometrial cancer with sigmoid colon involvement. Her medical treatment was started in Bangladesh but eventually, she had to go to India for further treatment. Since then, she has been under the supervision of doctors from Tata memorial hospital, Mumbai. The procedure consisted of 6 cycles of chemotherapy and 10 cycles of immunotherapy with Pembrolizumab. Each session cost 5.5 Lakhs ($5000 or €45000). At present, she is undergoing hormone therapy. But the tumor has increased unexpectedly within a month and is still progressive.

Surgery and reverse surgery are the only options to assure her survival among her loved ones, most importantly her family. She also needs to undergo chemotherapy after surgeries. The family has already spent more than 60 lakhs ($55000 or €50,000) for her treatment and can’t afford to pay without our support. At this moment, she needs another 30 lakhs ($27000 or €25,000) for the surgery and for recovery treatment.

We, the 22nd batch of Mymensingh Girls Cadet College (2000-2006), are reaching out to save our friend. Kaniz Fatema Badhon is a doctor by profession and a mother of a wonderful son who is only 8 years old. She is only 35 years old and has small and happy dreams like any other girl. But she is fighting for her own life instead of bringing a smile to others' faces as a doctor.

Even today, she is smiling with the hope that we will be coming all together to save her life. So, we are reaching out to everyone to gather the amount by 30th August. We firmly believe that it is doable with our little effort and donate as much as we can. She has contributed so much as a doctor to the community that we can’t express ourselves in words. Now, this is the time to stand next to her.
